Revenue per customer is not correct. How do I change this?

Revenue per customer is not working as intended.

I need to change the time period for revenue, or the definition of revenue, or both and/or I need to change the definition of customer count or the time period for the customer count, or both.

The default definition of Revenue per Customer is: Total Revenue (the total Financial Category from the P&L) divided by number of Active Customers (the total number of customers with invoices covering the current period, whenever issued, from the "global" report selected on the ScaleXP Customer page).

To change the ScaleXP definition of Revenue per customer, go to Settings (top bar)>Metric library (left sidebar) and search for "Revenue per Customer." Use the pencil next to the name to edit the metric.           To change the definition of Total Revenue, click on the Total Revenue line.   Use the dropdown bar to select another source of Revenue. To change the time period for Total Revenue, click on the Total Revenue line.  Select the Period button.

  • To select a single month, for example the current month, choose Value;
  • To select a longer time period, for example, the total for the past 3 months, select Add then choose the start and end of the time period  (see screenshot below);
  • To select an average over a time range, for example, the average amount over the past 3 months, select Average then choose the start and end of the time period;
  • To select the change in value from one date to another, for example to calculate the increase in active customer numbers, select Change, then the start and end date.

        To change the definition of "per Customer", click on the row which shows "divided by" and "Active Customers".   Use the dropdown bar to select another source of customer count.           Change the time period as described above.
