The ScaleXP Metric Library is where you’ll find the foundation for many of the calculations you see throughout the platform. It's your gateway to critical financial insights for better decision-making. During your onboarding, it’s important to review the metrics to ensure you understand the calculations behind them. To access the Metric Library, navigate to Settings > Metric Library. 

Here, you'll find essential metrics like EBITDA, CAC, LTV, MRR, ARR, Rule of 40, SaaS Magic Number, Cash Runway, and more.  

One of the most frequently modified metrics is CAC. This is where you can define the nominal accounts your business includes in CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) so it’s reflected accordingly in efficiency metrics including CAC Payback and LTV/CAC.   See How to set up CAC (customer acquisition costs).

This article provides more context on the top 10 SaaS metrics and KPIs.  If you are curious about the underlying metrics in any Dashboard chart, you can open the three dot menu in the top right and view the “Chart Formulas”. From there you can see the definition of the metrics included in the chart, links to relevant detailed descriptions and a button to edit the definition in the Metric Library. 

These complex metrics come with a default value as defined by the ScaleXP team, but of course, you can adjust accordingly if your business rules require. Notice that some of the metrics mentioned above and more have more detailed definitions which you can view by clicking the hyperlink above applicable metrics (See below).
